About Me

Dr. Ayman Kandeel is currently the Founder and Chairman of Fanarah Development, LLC. Ayman is most recognized for being a shrewd economist and a serial entrepreneur.

In November 2018, in his capacity as the founder and CEO of Borak Capital Holding, a Cairo-based boutique investment bank, Dr. Ayman Kandeel orchestrated and oversaw the $680 MM sale of AK for Real Estate Marketing and Development (AKREM) to Inertia Developments. This acquisition provided more than 300 percent return to the majority of AKREM’s investors.

In 2015, under Dr. Kandeel’s direction, Fanarah Developments, LLC launched the concept of Fanarah Coast, the first attempt at establishing an integrated destination along the Mediterranean seafront in Egypt. In 2016, the project was renamed Jefaira, and currently it is the largest Mediterranean-front project of its sort, along the entire coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

Between 1999 and 2009, Dr. Kandeel developed and co-managed various financial enterprises, including Borak Capital Holding, Arab African International Securities, and Pi Capital, Inc., to name a few. He has been active in raising considerable funds for many enterprises in the technology, real estate, entertainment, and finance sectors.

In 2001, Dr. Kandeel launched AK Comics, a highly publicized comic book publisher, with over forty books in English, Arabic, Greek, and Chinese. Envisioning the peaceful Middle East in the future, AK Comics designed a Muslim, a Jewish, and a Christian superhero/superheroine. The three heroes’ universe centers around the concept of protecting an imaginary parallel Middle Eastern against schemes targeting the disruption of alleged futuristic peace. He has been featured on many media channels such as the BBC, NPR, CNN, Al Jazeera, NBC, and John Stewart’s The Daily Show, to mention a few, and via this venture, he got introduced to a number of prominent politicians, several of which remain in his close network of connections.

Dr. Kandeel has a passion for the advertising industry. In 1995, launched Bonus Advertising, which was subsequently acquired by JWT. Today, JWT Cairo is by and large Egypt’s top ad firm. One of Egypt's most well-known advertising businesses, Advision, is owned by him.

Since graduating from the University of Southern California with a Ph.D. in emerging financial markets and completing his master's degree at the American University in Cairo, Dr. Kandeel has had a notable academic career. From 2003 through 2009, he taught at Cairo University. At USC and Long Beach, he also gave lectures on other topics. Dr. Kandeel retired from the academic sector in April of 2011 in order to devote more time to his companies in the United States and Egypt.

Kandeel now serves on the boards of several companies, including Arab African International Securities (AAIS), Pacific Agencies and Contractors (PAC) Corporation (AAC), and Borak Capital holding (BCC).
